Nodo
Description
Ayuda en Acción and its partner cooperatives in rural Nicaragua worked mostly with manual processes in areas with limited internet access. This reduced productivity, made traceability difficult, and limited access to higher-value markets for small dairy producers. Low digital skills, unstable connectivity, and the lack of standard quality controls made daily work inefficient and weakened buyer confidence. The new platform will be designed for low-bandwidth rural settings, allowing cooperatives to digitize records, improve traceability across the dairy value chain, and work more efficiently. It will help generate reliable data, improve product quality, increase market access, and support more resilient and sustainable rural livelihoods.
The solution
Rural development
The solution will register milk deliveries digitally, trace production and transformation processes, manage inventory and sales for dairy products, capture data online and offline in low-connectivity areas, provide real-time reporting on production and performance, and improve operational efficiency for rural cooperatives.
Social and economic justice
The solution will provide transparent recognition of producer contributions, manage fair payments and advances, improve trust across the value chain, enable data-driven access to new markets, strengthen livelihoods for small-scale dairy producers, and offer inclusive digital tools tailored to rural contexts.
