SINSERHO (Sistema Nacional de Seguimiento a Recomendaciones de Honduras)
Description
Monitoring human rights in Honduras has been slowed down by fragmented data, limited accountability, and weak transparency, making it difficult for civil society and the public to track government compliance with international recommendations, including those from the United Nations Universal Periodic Review (UPR).
We developed SINSERHO in collaboration with the Coalición contra la Impunidad (CCI), Progettomondo, and technical support from OHCHR (United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights), creating a transparent, data-driven platform to monitor Honduras’s compliance with human rights recommendations. SINSERHO centralizes data, provides indicator-based tracking, and offers both public and private interfaces to support advocacy, evidence-based dialogue, and citizen engagement.
The solution
Human rights
Centralized and searchable databases make it easier for civil society to track Honduras’s compliance with international human rights recommendations. Automated reporting and data visualization tools allow organizations to analyze indicators aligned with the UPR (United Nations Universal Periodic Review) framework and produce evidence-based advocacy.
Transparency
Real-time monitoring of state compliance improves oversight and coordination between civil society and authorities. Role-based access protects sensitive information, while public access to follow-up data empowers citizens to monitor abuses and ensure accountability.
Torture prevention
Indicator-based tracking and centralized follow-up enable systematic monitoring of the implementation of recommendations related to the prevention of torture and ill-treatment, identifying gaps and areas of concern across institutions.
