MID (Módulo de Información de Defensorías)
Description
Bolivia’s Defensorías de la Niñez y Adolescencia are responsible for protecting children’s rights, yet many offices used to operate with limited resources, outdated equipment, and no unified way to track cases or coordinate interventions. After the approval of the 2014 Children’s Rights Code, the need for a national system to organize and monitor child protection efforts became urgent.
Tutator partnered with the Ministry of Justice to develop SINNA (Sistema de Información de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes), with the MID (Módulo de Información de Defensorías) as the first operational component. Since 2018, the MID has enabled Defensorías in more than 120 cities to register cases, follow up efficiently, and share information in real time, laying the foundation for full nationwide adoption.
The solution
Children’s rights
Centralized case registration allows Defensorías to follow up on 100% of child cases, reducing missed interventions and ensuring timely protection against violence.
Law & legal affairs
Real-time integration with SINNA (Sistema de Información de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes) and secure Ministry servers improves coordination across all Defensorías, enabling faster policy decisions and evidence-based protection measures for children nationwide.
