Description

The Juvenile Court of the State of Durango faced major limitations in its digital infrastructure, which became especially clear during the pandemic. Managing cases manually made virtual hearings difficult, slowed judicial procedures, and limited access to reliable, real time information. In response, SICAMEX was developed in 2021 to modernize and digitize the juvenile justice process and ensure continuity, transparency, and rights based treatment for adolescents. The system brings all case information into one place, supports hearings and reminders, improves access to data, and helps apply a restorative justice approach in line with national standards.

The solution

Law & legal affairs

Centralized case management and automated procedural alerts improve compliance with legal timelines, helping judicial staff across multiple states consistently apply human-rights standards and the National System of Integral Juvenile Justice law.

Transparency

Digital tracking of cases from initial hearing to post-judgment enables real-time monitoring and analytics, reducing delays and improving continuity of care for adolescents, while supporting replication of best practices across states.

Juvenile Justice

User-centered digital tools streamline the management of juvenile cases from initial hearing to post-judgment, enabling court operators to conduct virtual hearings, maintain secure records, and ensure continuity of the restorative justice process across multiple states.
